Salesforce Integration Architecture with Clear Ownership

Salesforce integration architecture should make the business handoff, system authority, data context, security boundary, failure path, and owner explicit.

Define the business handoff first

Describe the process, source event, receiving action, expected outcome, user or service owner, and evidence of completion. The Salesforce implementation route provides an internal delivery path.

Assign system authority and data context

For each record or field, identify the authoritative system, permitted writer, reference relationship, update condition, and conflict decision. Pass only the context the receiving workflow needs.

Design errors, retries, and ownership

Define timeout, incomplete data, duplicate event, rejected request, retry, escalation, and reconciliation behaviour. Name the owner who can decide what happens next.

Test security and change impact

Test identity, permissions, data minimisation, normal and failure paths, schema changes, deployment order, and rollback or recovery. Record what the evidence establishes.

Review the integration as services evolve

Revisit mappings and ownership when the business process, data model, endpoint, user group, or consequence changes.

Review your integration architecture

Bring the handoff, error path, or authority question that needs a clearer operating model.
